The death of a Raki!

July 7, 2008

So, not only have I been so busy with the podcast, doing the website and other stuff…but Rikoo died.

Essentially I was on the Ustream (see home page..the little live button) showing off for players. One of them asked me to try out a flying mount, and being that it might be a new player I decided to.

I flew off, and the mount fell out from under me. Luckily, I landed in water. Then, phone call time. I made sure Rikoo’s head was out of the water before I walked off to talk on the phone, but when I came back a few minutes later, he was but a corpse.

The people in the chat room didn’t give too many details, but some were saying it was a bug that did it, and that it shouldn’t count. I tend to agree, but dammit if quite a few people saw the death, which would solidify it as qualifying. I immediately logged out, without rezzing at the stone or anything.

Remember, you must be killing mobs that are within your level range [basically, mobs you can xp off of] in order to get your MEST quest items.

Here is a link to each quest offered in Mekalia. The rewards are listed as well!

Note: More information will be added to each of these as more information is known. If you have something to add, please do so! =D

VoV episode 46! Interview with Moonlite, master of all things CS!!

June 21, 2008

Voyages of Vanguard #46
[download/play]

Make sure to go to http://voyagesofvanguard.wordpress.com/ to read our blogs and articles!

The highlight from show 46:

* You know what kind of people are SUPA’ FUN to interview? One’s that are named MOONLITE, Senior Customer Service Supervisor! She throws down facts about answering petitions, and how to talk to PvP fanatics! Near the latter half of the interview we break into essentially a free-for-all conversational “jam-session!” We had so much fun, and we thank the whole team for being so nice to us!!

Beau

PS: Next week is a “normal” show we think, then we will possibly have Silius again or the wonderful Ellyra! YAY!

This week’s song is picked out by Moonlite and is Iron Maiden’s “Hallowed Be Thy Name”! Man, Maiden RULES!

Some trivia from the show:

Moonlite says “QQ” at one point.

Glip LOVES Hillary Duff.

When we started the interview, we thought we needed to interview 3 people at once. I think we recovered quite nicely.

Now, check a look at the picture that Moonlite sent us: HERE. If you can guess who she is one stage, you will get some free cookies! And a shout-out, of course. Save the pic, circle her and send it back to voyagesofvanguard@yahoo.com

Interview with Glip the Gnome TEXT VERSION.

May 30, 2008

The Voyages of Vanguard team had the pleasure of interviewing with Nick Parkinson, or Glip the Gnome as many of us know him. (Our first interview! Yaya) Unfortunately, he is still missing his pants, so if any of you have seen them feel free to contact him. He wouldn’t admit how far he’s flown, but he did say that his farthest airplane flight was either Hong Kong or Taiwan.

I’m sorry I didn’t get every question and response in here, but I hope you enjoy!

VoV: What’s your job title?

Nick: Associate Producer. I’m in charge of the day to day running of the Vanguard team, and I have to baby sit Silius

4. New Particles
5. Patch Notes

1. RACIAL MOUNTS
We have added a unique racial mount for each race in Vanguard! The mounts can be attained through a series of faction based quests that can be started in each race’s home town. If you happen to like another race’s mount better than your own though, worry not! With the appropriate faction, players will be able to complete any of the quests.

No more leveling for this perma-death dummy.

May 27, 2008

So, the Immersion Project has been doing nothing but creating fun times for me. It has become more and more about role-play, but is still going strong in the “player experience” department.

Recently, I decided to ditch my in-game map (easier than it seems) and would only allow myself to find my way around using a physical, real life printed map with no markers (harder than you would think.) Right away I realized how much I relied on the in-game map and how little of the landscape and landmarks I truly remembered.
